HYPERTENSION (BLOOD PRESSURE)
Hypertension (blood pressure) is the force that
a person’s blood exerts against the walls of their blood vessels. This pressure
it depends on the resistance of the blood vessels and how hard the heart has to
work. Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg).
The
blood pressure of a normal humans being is 120/80mmHg,
very high blood pressure over 140/90 mmHg strains
the blood vessels and cause hypertension and sometimes heart failure due to the
increase of blood pressure it may be caused by the
high fat levels due to over consumption of fatty
foods, lack of exercise, obesity, high emotional stress, alcoholism, smoking and
arteriosclerosis, usually blood pressure
rise and fall throughout the day based on the activities that you are involved
with, Untreated, high blood pressure increases the risk of heart attack, stroke
and other serious health problems. blood pressure changes throughout the day
based on your activities.
What
can cause high blood pressure?
Having
certain health condition can lead to hypertension for example the patient who
is diabetic and obesity are in greater risk to get hypertension
IMPACT
OF HYPERTENSION
Hypertension
can cause heart attack to the person this is because the heart fails to operate
in its normal condition due to the increase in blood pressure in the body
Heart
failure also is possible because when a heart fails to pump blood throughout
the body it could lead to the heart failure and ultimately death
Hypertension
can also cause stroke, which is the bursting of muscles that transport blood in
the body (arteries), stroke can cause a person to fail to move, walk, talk and
even to speak, stroke can also cause sudden death to the patient
The
sign and symptoms of hypertension include feeling
dizzy, ringing sound in the ears, severe headache, and raised blood pressure
over 140/90 mmHg recorded in three to four consecutive days
It
is important to check your blood pressure regularly However, most people with
hypertension will experience no symptoms or any sign at all sometimes, High blood pressure is
also called the silent killer because it may
not show any warning signs or symptoms
PREVENTION OF HYPERTENSION
Hypertension
can be prevented by engaging in regular physical exercise,
it is good to do exercise for least 20 to 30
minutes a day, exercise can simply help to burn the calories in the
body, practice also can help you lose weight as well drive the blood pressure
away from you.
Drinking of too much alcohol and meats which
contain high amount fat or calories is not good habit because it may lead to
hypertension, Moderate to excessive alcohol consumption can increase blood
pressure.
Have a good eating habit the meal we take should
be a balanced diet and have interval between time that we take our meal, the
meal we take must contains vitamins, mineral and
fibers (The best way to get more fiber is to eat a lot of plant foods,
which include vegetables and fruits. Legumes
are also a good source, as well as some cereals) fruits like oranges, mangoes,
pineapple etc. should not miss in our meal, balanced diet with low fats helps
to control weight and reduced the risk of being attacked with blood pressure
Get rid of stress as much as possible and getting
enough sleep is the one of the factor that
can help remove anxiety and tension
Poor sleep has been linked to the accumulation
of body fat, as well as insulin resistance, good sleeping hygiene and
stress reduction methods like meditation,
relaxation and others can help to prevent someone from being attacked by
blood pressure(hypertension)
Reducing salt consumption, high sodium
consumption may lead to high blood pressure. The main source of
sodium in the diet is salt.
One
must reduce the diet with contain excess amount of salt, People with
hypertension should consume less than 1,500 mg of sodium per day to manage
their condition.
POSSIBLE WAYS TO TREAT HYPERTENSION.
MEDICATION
Through
medication hypertension can be prevented, the medicine must be prescribed by
the doctor who have the experience dealing with hypertension patients, however
there are other types of the medication that can be used to treat people with hypertension.

concentration of muscles like legs, hands, fingers, palm and so on, doing these
daily is said to increase the size of the muscles which can accommodate and allow
the blood to flow easily throughout the body and hence maintain the pressure of
the body
EXERCISE
Now
when it comes to exercise there are different types of exercise but the most
useful exercise includes the following
Yoga –
this is one of the best exercise that can help an individual to maintain their
health, yoga exercise can include stretching of the parts of the body each for
few minute, also yoga is associated with internal breathing techniques to
maintain the pressure of the blood
Anaerobic exercise
– these are exercise that gets a heart pumping, anaerobic exercise includes
running, jogging, jumping, riding bicycle, kick box and so on, these exercise
allow the blood to flow and hence open all the muscles that are more like to
block to the blood flow.
Vigorous activities – sometimes the
activities that the person is doing must be vigorous like digging, sweeping, painting
and so on these activities will allow the blood to flow throughout the body and
hence give the muscles the ability to carry enough blood.
